Some Beneficial Properties
Largely made up of Sodium and Chloride Ions, Salt is essential for human health. It is often used as a preservative and to add flavour to foods.
Sodium is required to regulate blood pressure, bodily fluids, nerve and muscle function. Chloride ions are important electrolytes that aid in the production of stomach acids. Humans lose salt through perspiration and it must be replenshed through their diets.
Whilst only a small amount is required to sustain the body , choosing an unrefined natural salt over one that has been chemically cleaned and treated with the anti-caking agents often found in regualr table salts may be more favourable.
